 Desert Classic Chevy's Extravaganza -- October 12, 2002 Three members of Arizona Impalas drove off with trophies at the Desert Classic Chevy's 15th Annual Extravaganza Saturday, October 12 at A.J. Chandler Park in Chandler. John Sahid and his dual-quad, four-speed, Positraction 409-powered '62 Biscayne took first place in the 58-64 division. John Besser's '68 Impala Custom coupe won third and Mike and Felicia Peters' '67 Impala sport coupe took first place in the 65-72 division. Other members showing their classic Chevys were George and Devona Stebbins with their '64 Impala SS sport coupe and Gary and Samantha Dulude with their '64 Impala sport sedan. Members visiting the show without their cars were Daryl Wimer, Bob Kohler, and Bill Noyes. More than 150 classic Chevys ranging from Tri-Fives to trucks to Corvettes attended the show.
