This is Charles & Heather Hajny's 1964 Impala. It came originally from Texas where it was driven for 18 years. After being stored for ten years it was driven to Omaha, NE where it had a partial restoration started. It ended up being stored at the body shop for another eleven years before the closure of the body shop made the Impala's owner decide to sell it. Charles bought it in 2005 after returning from Iraq. She is simply know as "Paula", catchy I know. "Paula " is equipped with a 327 and a Turbo 350 trans. The interior has been completely replaced and the suspension has also been completely rebuilt. The car has factory PWR brakes and A/C. It also has a factory dash tach.

Daryl R. ("Whip") Wimer, founding President of the Arizona Impalas, has a 1959 Chevrolet Bel Air named "Maybellene" after that old Chuck Berry song. He purchased the car, originally from Prescott Valley, early in 2008 and it had already been restored to number matching quality. A few minor esthetic changes, along with a glass-pak muffler, pretty much completed this daily driver. With a re-worked transmission and a 283 HP engine with power assist steering plus power brakes, Maybellene cruises down the road like a new car.

This is Don and Darlene Peebles' 1966 Impala Convertible. Back in 2002 when they were still in MI., Don had just sold a Viper and was looking for something completly different to cruise in. His dad drove new Implalas every year from 1958 up to 1974 so it was a natural fit to look for an Impala for both nostalgia and for his dad's enjoyment. Don found the car through his Viper buyer and immediatly started doing a cosmetic restoration on it. It was an original big block turbo 400 car out of North Carolina in decent driver condition. It only took a few months to finish [realitive terminology] just in time for the 2002 Woodward Dream Cruise in the Detroit area.

They had the car shipped to Arizona here in 2004 and Don still hasn't stopped playing with it and never will. THEY'RE NEVER DONE!!!! $$$$$$$$

This is John Matthews' 1963 Chevy Impala two-door hardtop. John is the third owner; the car was originally purchased at Courtesy Chevrolet in Phoenix, Arizona in 1963 as a six cylinder,
three speed on the column car. The second owner bought it in 1998 and did a nine-year body-off restoration. He installed a 327/ 300 hp engine with a 350-turbo transmission. He also had a new black paint job done, and installed a custom cream- colored interior. John purchased the car last year and further upgraded it with power disk brakes, power steering, a Lokar floor shifter, extensive suspension work, and rewiring. This car is an original rust free survivor with modern upgrades.

Curtis and Chris DeLaGrange owned a 69 Impala Custom Coupe when they were first married, however with the financial pressures of marriage and starting a family Curtis had to reluctantly sell the car. Now 22 years later, he is searching the internet for a second car "a gas sipper" to use for his work and for his youngest son to drive. (He will be 16 in October 2007) He was on "Craig's List dot com" one Saturday morning and typed in "Chevy" The second ad that came up was for a 1969 Chevy Impala. He clicked the link to the ad and there was a brief description of the car and four pictures. He could tell from the pictures that the car was in great shape and in the background in the pictures it looked like it could possibly be in his neighborhood. The ad stated that it was a "numbers matching all original Arizona car" So he called the guy and turns out he lives less than a mile away and right in Curtis's neighborhood. He went and looked at the car and it was really nice and clean. Absolutely zero rust and an original body, interior and glass. Everything works in the car! Curtis wrote down the vin number, Fisher body tag numbers and the motor numbers. Went home and researched all the info and in fact it is a numbers matching car. During his research on the car, Curtis also found the Arizona Impalas. So he bought the car and joined the club and has had a blast meeting all the nice people in the club and driving the Impala to shows and cruise nights.
Since he bought the car, he has replaced the whole front suspension, had dual exhaust installed and installed an AM/FM cassette deck, and new rear tires. He detailed the car and that is all it needed. The car has the original AC and it blows ICE COLD! So now he still needs to find that "gas sipper" for he and his son.

Bill and Nancy Noyes are the proud owners of a once again roadworthy 1962 Impala convertible. They have the distinction of being the most tenured members without a running vehicle, right behind Kevin and Marty Byrnes, although other members have been around longer without even OWNING an Impala. Thank goodness all that is required for membership is an enthusiasm for these wonderful pieces of history.

The Noyes’ bought her new in ‘62. Aqua with a white top and an aqua interior, she was their daily driver for over 10 years. After that she became their weekend pleasure vehicle. Following years of enjoyment, every owner’s greatest nightmare struck. Their car was stolen!!!!

Thanks to the silent witness program in Arizona, she was eventually recovered, but had been totally dismantled, with many parts missing or destroyed.

Despite the heartbreak, Bill and Nancy decided to bring her back to her original glory. It has been a long, difficult, and sometimes costly job to preserve the car, but one they feel is necessary.

The car still has the original 283 with a 3 speed overdrive transmission, power steering, push button radio, wind shield washers and factory air that was installed as an after market accessory. The interior and paint are new as well as the top.

While the preservation is not yet complete, and they are still seeking some parts, Bill and Nancy are more than ready to resume driving and showing their 1962 convertible.

Happy motoring from the Arizona Impalas to Bill and Nancy !

This is Chris & Diane Panettas 1966 Impala SS. The car was purchased new by Chris' grandfather in December of 1965 in Southern California, at the age of 70 years old. He drove it daily for the next 28 years before passing it on to Chris.

The bright white car has red interior, a 383 stroker motor, 200-4R trans, 3:73 gears, Cragar SS mags and custom pin stripping. It was never intended to be a show car but after attending one in 2002 it was too much fun to pass up. The car continues to be Chris' everyday driver and will be passed on to his grandson Trevor Christopher in a few more years.

This is John Kostandin's 1960 Impala Hardtop. It has a 283 small block and powerglide transmission. He purchased the car in 2001 for a mere $2,900. John has since performed a numbers matching frame-off restoration

Dana Billingsley's 1964 Impala Super Sport has a 327 engine with a Muncie 4 speed transmission. He's the third owner and completed a very nice frame off restoration in 2005.

Alan Todd's '68 Impala Custom coupe has been in his family for 17 years. Built the second week of November, 1967, it is equipped with a 396/325 hp big-block V-8, Turbo 400 transmission, and a 2.56 rear-end with Positraction. Options include a light monitoring system, ash tray light, front and rear bumper guards, power steering, power brakes, 6-way power seat, and tilt steering wheel. It was originally painted Grotto Blue with a blue cloth interior. Alan also has a 454 motor, disc brakes from a '70 Caprice, a complete A/C unit, and an SS427 dash cluster. He plans to restore and upgrade his numbers-matching Impala as time and money allow.

Vic and Gerri Zavarella bought their white '65 Impala SS sport coupe brand new in from a Massachusetts Chevy dealer, and Vic still has the original bill of sale and registration papers. He special ordered the car with the unusual powertrain combination of the standard 195-hp 283 V-8 backed by a four-on-the-floor. Although the car has no other options, Vic has since added aftermarket air conditioning, which still works.

If it looks a little worse for wear in the top picture, that's because it was Vic's daily driver for 36 years and his sons also learned to drive in it. It may have looked like a beater, but it also served as a testament to the Impala's durability.

In 2004, Vic finally had the time to restore the SS to its original glory. Besides new paint and bodywork, the car got a new interior with the original Super Sport upholstery and trim.

The Zavarella's Impala has personalized plates "NOGO 1," and there's a story behind them. The first car Vic built and modified was a 1950 Chevy 2-door with a 220-hp 283 V-8 PowerPack, a three-speed on the floor and a 4:11 rear end.

Back in his street racing days, in the late 50s and early 60s, people would ask, "Does that Chevy go ?" A friend of Vic's in the back seat answered them with, "Naa...No Go!" Vic first got personalized NOGO plates in Connecticut back in 1959. After moving to the Valley, Vic applied for NOGO plates in Arizona and turned in his old Connecticut plates. His friend's brother applied for the plates in Connecticut and has had them on his car since 1969; Vic even has one of the old Connecticut plates.

Lucy is Kevin and Marty Byrnes' red '66 Impala SS convertible. Lucy was purchased on Labor Day 2000 in Gaylord, Michigan from a private owner who had owned her twice. Kevin and Marty are working on documenting that they are the fourth owners. They drove her to Arizona with the top down most of the way.

Lucy rolled off the assembly line in Flint, Michigan with a standard 283 V-8 and Powerglide and is one of only 15,872 full size Chevrolet convertibles built in 1966. Lucy was originally purchased at the Chevrolet dealer in Birmingham, Michigan, and from what Kevin and Marty can tell, she has always been titled in Michigan.

Lucy is all original and it is Kevin and Marty's goal to keep her that way making improvements only on her condition with no changes.

Lucy has recently undergone some facelifts and is once again a very impressive looking car!

Dave Poore owns a pair of '72 Impala Custom coupes, affectionately known as Archie and Edith.

Archie is billed as the world's most famous Impala -- at least based on hits to his Web site, www.stillruns.com. Dave bought the car with 75,000 miles on it in November, 1988 for $650 and figured he would drive it until it stopped running. 200,000+ miles later, the original 350 small-block V-8 still runs. Dave has gradually fixed his Impala's mechanicals and his car is a daily driver.

Dave's Impala has been on the Internet since 1995; his Web site is a hilarious tribute to a car that just won't quit.

In June, 2003, Dave bought Edith and had her shipped to Arizona from Oregon. Like Archie, Edith has a 350 small-block V-8, but with dual exhausts, she sounds sweet. And unlike Archie, Edith has working factory air. Cosmetically, Edith is in much better shape as well. The black interior looks practically brand new except for some electrical tape on the driver's side corner. Dave has already ordered personalized plates for Edith: "STLRUNZ."

In May of 2005, Dave bought Meathead...a 72 Impala convertible with 200,000 original miles. He had the car shipped from Massachusetts, so it does have some rust. But as Dave would say, "Rust builds character!".
